June 26 IT Administrator DDoS

IT-Administrator is a leading German-language monthly trade magazine with a print circulation of 11k, and a website that draws over 80k unique monthly visitors. It covers the full spectrum of professional IT operations, providing practical, hands-on expertise to system administrators, network managers, and IT decision-makers.
In the June 26 edition I authored an article, which was then translated in German, covering DDoS attack trends.
In the article, I explain how Layer 7 DDoS attacks overload an application's business logic with seemingly legitimate traffic—making them highly precise, fast-evolving, and incredibly difficult to detect. I highlights that defending against these threats requires context-aware filtering, ML-based behavioral analysis, and a resilient architecture. Ultimately, the key takeaway is: companies must treat Layer 7 resilience as a strategic pillar of business continuity, rather than just a technical detail.
